Midwest Instruments & Controls is a manufacturing company specializing in paddle wheel flow meters utilized in irrigation, aquaculture and other applications where a simple water flow meter is required. These flow meters utilize a paddle wheel design that measures flow in pipes ranging in size from 1/2" up to 8". The meters are offered in two versions; both utilize the same paddle wheel system.

This version of the meter has the paddle wheel sensor and display separated by 15'. Many times pipes are suspended from ceilings or below surfaces which are not easily accessible. This version allows the display to be mounted in a location that is easily viewed and utilized.

Pipe Mounted (PT series) Paddle Wheel Water Flow Meter

This version, which is the original and most popular version, has the LCD display mounted to the sensor which is attached directly to the pipe. This is also less expensive than the meter with the 15' detached display.

Pipe Saddles

Saddles mount the flow meters to pipes of various sizes and schedules. Specific to each pipe size and schedule, a saddle for a 3" schedule 40 pipe will not work on a 3" schedule 80 pipe. The user can program the Pipe Mounted Meters or the Detached Display Flow Meters for any of these various sized saddles. Add saddles as an option when ordering the meter heads. Or additional saddles can be purchased separately. The same meter head can be field programmed and installed in any of saddles. Detailed description of the various saddles can be found here.
